Our Family’s Legacy of Authentic Mexican Cuisine

The Becerra Family settled in San Diego from Mexico in 1900, making me a proud fourth-generation San Diegan. While many see San Diego as just a tourist destination, for my family, it has always been home.

In the early 1950s, my great-grandmother ran a small restaurant near Hillcrest called “El Prado,” where locals and visitors alike lined up for hours to enjoy her unique blend of Tex-Mex, Durango, and Sonora cuisines. At the same time, my mother’s family, the Garcias, were managing a ranch called Buena Vista in Baja Mexico. My great-grandfather famously claimed that Rancho Buena Vista had “more fish than anywhere else in the world,” and he partnered with two others to establish one of the first sports-fishing resorts in Baja. Because of my late grandfather’s deep love for Baja and his pioneering spirit, I have dedicated our entire seafood menu in his honor.

Cooking runs through my veins. For over a century, my family has prepared traditional Mexican dishes here in San Diego. After years of learning from my grandparents, parents, and extended family, I’m excited to share the passion and heart we put into our food with you. My vision was to become “The King of ALL types of TACOS.” That’s why our menu features not only classic Tijuana-style street tacos but also Baja-style and, influenced by my Chicano heritage, the beloved Tacos Dorados—crispy fried shell tacos that were my childhood favorite thanks to my parents.
